 = !RogueDetect =
 Rogue Detect sends DHCPDISCOVER packets to the network and listens for DHCP servers to respond and checks responses against authorized dhcp servers. It’s written in Perl. By default it supports sending reports to syslog, email, standard out or a customer script of your choosing. Each reporting method has it’s own independent reporting level.

 === !RogueDetect Beta2 Released ===
 I know I’m skipping Beta1, however this release is a major rewrite of how the !Roguedetect program works logically to correct an issue that only occurs when two dhcp servers would respond within 1/10th of a second of each other. It also increases the code comments, and simplifies the code a little bit. You can find it in the downloads section.

 === !RogueDetect 0.4-Alpha2 Released ===

 This release separates out all of the configuration options from the perl script and puts them into roguedetect.cfg This should make it easier for users to upgrade in the future and maintain their installation, without having to re-configure constantly. The config parser was written by Ben Goska. This release also adds automatic detection of your local hardware addresses making it easier to move between boxes.

 If you find any bugs, or would like to see a new feature in !RogueDetect please submit a Task under development.

 === !RogueDetect 0.4-Alpha1 Released ===

 I’ve just uploaded a new version of !RogueDetect (!RogueDetect 0.4-Alpha1). This version includes improved logging and some minor code cleanup. If you have any questions, or would like to see something added to RogueDetect just let us know. Next on the list of features to add is automatic detection of the interfaces hardware address, hopefully automatic detection of valid helper addresses and potentially inclusion of a simple perl script for pulling Switch port, and even potentially automatically disabling the port based on the seen HWA address.

 All of this brought to you by the Open Source Initiative at Oregon State University.
