Connectors and Interfaces

This page covers the different connectors available in the CSPFL Hardware and how they can be used. Some of them have obvious purposes (USB and audio for example) while others are provided for very low-level debug and future applications.

Power Jack

DC power input
Fits 2.1mm ID, 5.5mm OD connectors

USB Type A

Provides host USB, works at full speed / low speed, does not do high speed.

USB Mini-B

CORE.0

Can be used to charge the OSWALD from usb.

CORE.1

Charges the OSWALD, also can be a high speed device.

HDMI

DVI-D single link output

Audio

3.5mm stereo audio jack

MMC/SD

Standard SD card slot. Note that often the lines are called MMC because SD and MMC use the same interface (though are different physically).

Expansion Connectors

These are internal connectors. It is not recommended to use these unless you have a good reason. Working with the OSWALD open can be dangerous, so be careful.

Expand One

CORE.0

Contains the debug port as well as the HS USB lines.

CORE.1

Still has the debug port as well as MMC2 lines.

Expand Two

Contains JTAG lines for low level debugging (really low level), also has UART2 (/dev/ttyS1), and USB port lines.

LCD Connector

TFT-LCD connector

CORE to Interface Connector

This connects the two boards in the system.
