Meeting Notes (11/06/2008)
Information
- People: Kiwi-Monster, Eric, Justin, and Jensen
- Location: KEC 3114
- Start Time: 3:10pm
- End Time: 4:05pm
Notes:
- We want to get away from using Trac's project listing. Instead we want to work on the 'Projects' module of Elgg and use that instead.
- In Elgg, in the Projects module page remove the extra link that says: 'Browse Projects', also remove the 'Project Graveyard' link.
- The link that displays 'Pending Projects' needs to be committed. Right now it's only in Eric's vm.
- For release 1.1 or 1.2 we need to have some sort of installer because setting up the vm is pretty hard
- Come up with a standard footer for both elgg and trac that has contact info. This link can help people request help or send emails to code-admin list.
- Kiwi Monster will think about a way to programatically create a mailing list. We could push a file to kiwi monster and she would use that file to create new mailing lists.
- A check box should be added to the project request form to give ability to create a mailing list
- Jensen thinks that mailing lists are important so that outside people can contact developers.
- Forums ? Justin brought up the point that mailing lists aren't always good for every group. Kiwi Monster mentions that having an sso plugin might help keep down spam and improve security of a forum.
- In the Marketplace main page, it's not obvious that there are more than 1 for hire and help wanted posts. (remove the main marketplace page).
- Help wanted should be the default page in the marketplace.
- Your related ads (marketplace requests) should be displayed in the users homepage.
- Reply link on the marketplace should only be displayed to authenticated users.
- The Marketplace should have a list of tags that people can look at and click on them to filter the ads based on the tags
- On the projects listing page have a link that allows people to request help through the market place.
- Allow in trac to make a ticket into a marketplace request.
- People should have an option to communicate with other users. Maybe display their onid email? What about privacy issues? Some people have chosen not to have their information displayed in the 'Find Someone' app.
- Change config options, so that emails are sent to the user when there's a new comment on their wall.
