Introduction to Projects
Projects are a key component of Beaversource. A project can represent a variety of things. For instance, Beaversource is a project, and the people that work on that project are members of the Beaversource admin project. This project is focused on the design, development, expansion and maintenance of the Beaversource's Code Orange source code. Users creating an entry for the 2009 International Aerial Robotics Competition are members of the OSURC Aerial Project, sponsored by the OSU Robotics Club. Another project example is the OSWALD hand-held computer project. The goal of this project is to gather resources and information for the OSWALD hand-held computer.
Joining A Project
The only way to join a project in Beaversource is to contact the admin(s) of the project and request membership. If you are project administrator, you have two options to add users to your project. If you are a project admin, follow these 2 options given below.
Option 1
| 1. Go to your project's main page: beaversource.oregonstate.edu/projects/<project'url'name> |
| 2. Click the Admin tab. |
| 3. Then click, Permissions. |
| 4. Under the Grant Permissions options on the right-hand side, enter the onid user name affiliated with the member you want to add to your group and under Action, select TRAC_ADMIN perm. |
Option 3
If you want to invite a friend to your project, follow these steps.
| 1. Go to your project's homepage. |
| 2. Check the box next to your friend's name, then click Invite. |
Creating A Project
Unlike other aspects of Beaversource, there is a submission process for creating a project; Beaversource administrators must approve your project before it's created.
| 1. Click Projects linked at the top of the Beaversource banner. |
| 2. Find a project from the projects list. Click its name to go to their homepage. |
| 3. Click Request a new project. |
| 4. Fill out the required information on the Project Request Form. This form will be reviewed and approved based on the information you provide. |
| 3. Make sure to review your project's license, then check the box at the bottom of the screen after you have read the terms and conditions and click Submit. |
| 4. When your project is approved, you will receive an e-mail verification. |
| 5. Once your project's environment has been created, you will receive another e-mail notifying of your projects URL. |
